You don’t have to install the graphics straight away, however the sooner they are applied to your vehicle the better, so it’s best to do so within a month of receiving them.

We use only premium Polymeric vinyl specifically designed for vehicle applications. When installed and removed correctly, it won’t cause any damage to your paintwork. Our vinyl adheres securely but can be removed cleanly, without leaving residue or marking the surface.

We offer both printed and cut (solid colour) vinyl options. Printed vinyl is ideal for full-colour designs, detailed graphics, or images. Cut vinyl uses solid colours and is perfect for bold, clean designs like text and logos. We can also contour-cut printed vinyl to any shape, giving your graphics a sharp, professional finish.

It very rarely happens, but if you run into any issues during installation, give us a call and we’ll talk you through it. We’ll do our best to help, and if we can’t, we’ll offer replacement panels – you’ll just pay postage.

Our vinyl vehicle graphic kits are designed to be user-friendly, even if you’ve never installed vinyl before.

Your kit includes everything you need: a professional squeegee and special application fluid that lets you reposition the graphics until perfect. The fluid gives you multiple attempts to get the positioning just right, so there’s no pressure to get it perfect on the first try. We include a detailed placement guide for your specific vehicle, and our team are always here to help if needed.

How do I look after my magnets?2026-01-20T18:12:05+00:00
Keep your magnets clean by washing them with a cloth and warm soapy water regularly. Make sure you remove the magnets, cleaning and drying them (as well as your vehicle) at least once a week. This helps to prevent trapped moisture, which can cause damage to paintwork. Never apply your magnets to damp or wet surfaces – the surface must be completely dry to ensure proper adhesion and avoid staining or rust.

Don’t use your magnets in extreme temperatures, as this can cause damage to your magnets as well as your vehicle. Apply your magnets only to smooth, flat metal areas. Avoid placing them over curves, trim, or raised surfaces, as this can weaken the magnetic hold.

Do not bend, fold, or crease your magnets. To maintain their shape and effectiveness, always handle with care. Store the magnets rolled up when not in use, with the printed side on the outside. Try not to roll the magnets too tightly.

To install your magnetic panels:
  1. Clean the panels of your van with soapy water, ensuring no debris is left.
  2. Position the magnets in line with the panels, ensuring the magnets are flat.

When not in use, store the magnets rolled up and in the box provided.

Yes. Our magnets are made from strong, automotive-grade, speed-rated magnetic material designed to stay securely in place, even at motorway speeds, when applied to clean, flat metal panels. Always ensure the magnets are fully flat with no air gaps, as improper application or neglected maintenance can cause them to lift. We can’t be held liable for magnets coming off due to incorrect fitting or misuse.

For the best longevity and to protect your vehicle’s paintwork, we recommend that your magnets are removed regularly, cleaned with soapy water, rinsed, dried, and re-applied. Ideally this should be done at least once a week. Long term use without caring for the car surface underneath can run the risk of paint damage, which we cannot be held liable for. Do not use magnets in very hot weather, as they can conduct heat and damage your paintwork. 
What if my vehicle has deadlocks or a rear camera?2026-01-20T18:10:31+00:00
We can’t pre-cut signs to fit around deadlocks or rear cameras, as their exact positions vary between vehicles. Instead, we’ll send you a precisely matched template so you can trim the sign for a perfect fit. After you place your order, we’ll also ask whether your vehicle has any deadlocks or cameras so we can position the design correctly around them.
Do you offer refunds or exchanges?2026-01-20T17:59:07+00:00
Yes, we offer refunds and exchanges within 14 days of purchase, as long as you have not yet sent us your design specifications and we have not made a start with your artwork. If, after receiving your first artwork draft, you would like a refund, we can organise a full refund minus an £85 design and admin fee. We are unable to offer refunds at any point after you receive your second design proof.

If you wish to exchange your sign to a different type of product in our range, we can organise this for you, as long as production has not yet started on your sign.

We are committed to ensuring customer satisfaction. If you receive a damaged or incorrect item, please contact us immediately. We will review the situation and strive to resolve the issue, which may include a replacement, discount, or store credit.

If your signs arrive with the wrong size, incorrect colours, or any printing issues, please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and photos of the problem. We’ll review the issue and put things right. If the error was on our side, we’ll remake or replace the signs at no extra cost. If the mistake was approved in the final proof, we’ll discuss the best solution with you.

You can cancel your order within 14 days of purchase, as long as you have not yet sent us your design specifications and we have not made a start with your artwork. If, after receiving your first artwork draft, you would like to cancel your order, we can organise a full refund minus a design and admin fee of 25% off your order. We are unable to offer refunds at any point after you receive your second design proof.

As soon as you order, we’ll email you to get your logo, business details, and what you’d like on your signs. Don’t have a logo? No problem, we can create one for you. One of our designers will send over a beautiful custom design for you to review. You can request up to two changes. Once you’re happy, we’ll print your order.

Once you have placed an order and completed the design form we send out to you, It takes up to three days to receive your first design proof. For example, if you complete the design form on a Thursday, you should receive the first design proof by the following Tuesday.

We’re a small team, so please note that during busy periods, such as Black Friday, there may be delays with getting your design to you.

What file format do I need to use when uploading my logo?2026-01-20T17:55:40+00:00
When we print your vehicle graphics, we want to ensure your logo is high-resolution so it doesn’t come across blurry or pixelated. In the form we sent over to you after you place an order, you’ll be asked to upload your logo in a vector file type.

Vector file types include:
– .pdf
– .ai
– .eps
– .svg

You can tell your logo is a vector by zooming in on it. If it remains crisp, it’s a vector. If the lines start to look fuzzy or broken up, it’s a raster.

Be careful! Just because a file is saved as a .eps, .ai, .svg, or .pdf doesn’t mean it is a vector file. Some online converters or tools like ChatGPT may trick you into thinking this is the case. Re-saving a raster file as a vector file won’t turn it into a vector image.

If you only have a raster file type, you have the option to use our logo redraw service. For £30, our design team will vectorise your logo so it’s crisp and ready to be used on your vehicle signage. 

Can I still place an order during your holiday break?2026-01-20T17:52:10+00:00
Yes! Although we are closed from the 23rd December and re-open on Monday 5th January, 

orders placed during this time are securely queued and will be processed in the order they were received when we reopen on 5th January. This means ordering now actually gives you a priority spot in our January production queue.

Production resumes on 5th January, and we will manufacture orders in the order they were approved.

Lost packages

At Signs DIY, we strive to ensure every order reaches you in perfect condition. In the event that your order is lost during transit, please reach out to our customer support team with your order number and any relevant details.

Damaged packages

We understand the disappointment of receiving a damaged package. In such instances, please report to our customer support team at contact@signsdiy.co.uk within 1 day of receiving the order and include photos of the damaged items or package.

We will review the provided documentation and, if necessary, arrange for a replacement or issue a refund.

Our standard shipping time within the UK is 1-2 business days.

Shipping charges, if applicable, will be calculated and displayed at checkout. Please note that delivery times may vary depending on your location and the time of year.

When you’ve placed an order and completed a design brief, your order will then be passed to the design team. We are currently looking at a lead time of approx 5-6 working days for the design team to send over first design proofs. Your patience and understanding during this exceptionally busy period is much appreciated.
